Red Dead Redemption 2 on its own is a visually stunning experience. With an expansive, open-world environment for players to enjoy and with a high level of detail, polish, and effort put into nearly every aspect of the game, Red Dead Redemption 2 has some of the best graphics the industry has to offer right now. Though, one modder has certainly gone above and beyond in terms of making the game even more breathtaking.

As is the case with just about any PC port of a AAA game, Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC is home to a cacophony of different mods for players to download. These mods can range from gameplay enhancement mods, to numerous different texture mods that allow players to insert a variety of different things into the environment. However, a lot of the more popular mods help to improve the game's visuals.

A modder who goes by Digital Dreams on YouTube, has created an 8K, ray-tracing PC mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 and the difference in quality is ridiculous. The ways in which the wildlife and scenery pop out so much due to the color contrast makes the graphics look almost hyper realistic. Even the clouds and lighting effects are leagues above what the base version of the game has to offer and that's saying a lot.

In terms of graphical capabilities alone, few other games have managed to surpass, let alone match, the visual and graphical quality that Red Dead Redemption 2 possesses. To the point where a news station mistook a Red Dead Redemption screenshot for real life and that was without the assistance of any texture mods to improve the game's overall look.

With the massive success that Red Dead Online has achieved following the initial release of Red Dead Redemption 2, it's hard to predict what's next for the series. It took Rockstar Games nearly ten years to release a sequel to the first Red Dead Redemption and it seems unlikely that another installment in the series will release anytime soon.

Although, that's not to say that Rockstar Games isn't working on anything new. For years now, fans have speculated that Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently in development, but seeing as Grand Theft Auto 5 released over seven years ago, it seems somewhat likely that GTA 6 will be announced soon. Then again, it also took Rockstar many years to develop and release Red Dead Redemption 2 and that game was easily one of the most ambitious games the studio has developed.

Red Dead Redemption is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
