Resident Evil Village throws players directly into the horror, stranding them in a mysterious village and setting armies of monsters on them. The latest installment of the long-running series doesn't pull any punches when it comes to giving players a tough challenge. However, the fans are up to the challenge, setting a new series record for simultaneous Steam players.

When it comes to surviving against the beasts that they will run into in Resident Evil Village, players will want to invest some time and money in expanding their inventory space. More inventory space means that players can carry more guns, ammo, and bombs to blow werewolves and vampires into little pieces.

How to Increase Inventory Space in Resident Evil Village

Inventory space upgrades can be purchased from Resident Evil Village's friendly merchant, the Duke. Fortunately, the Duke is something of a wandering trader who always appears in a convenient spot for players to find at various points through the story. He will first introduce himself outside Castle Dimitrescu, giving players the chance to purchase important items.

When doing business with the Duke, players can select the Supplies tab, where they will see an option called Extra Baggage. It comes in two different levels, the first of which cost 10,000 Lei, and the second of which costs 30,000 Lei. This is a lot of money, but it is worth it to be able to grab every weapon that players can find in the game.

Players can make money by fighting bosses like Lady Dimitrescu, finding rare items, or discovering secret treasures throughout the game. These items can then be sold to the Duke in return for Lei. While the combined 40,000 Lei price seems huge at the start of the game, players should have more Lei than they know what to do with by the middle of the story.

Alert players will find dozens of items that they can sell as they play through Resident Evil Village's levels, giving them the money to more than double their inventory space. Another important aspect of the game will be inventory management. The game is not the best at automatically figuring out the most space-efficient way to store items. Players should regularly check their inventory to ensure their health items, ammo, weapons, and assorted bits and pieces are being stored in the most efficient way.

One final thing to keep in mind is that some weapons are straight upgrades of others, so players who happen across a new handgun or shotgun can happily sell the ones that they will find at the very start of the game, giving them an early boost of money to grab an inventory expansion as soon as possible.

Resident Evil Village launches May 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
