The thing about Bus Simulator compared to titles like Train Sim World 2 is that, while its intricate with its presentation of the public service, it has a real sense of humour. And from what we’ve seen of Bus Simulator 21 – which now has a 7th September release date on PlayStation 4 – it’s leaning into the silliness a little bit.
This version complements the somewhat drab continental Europe locales of Seaside Valley with an entirely new map: the San Francisco-inspired Angel Shores. As with the previous version, you’ll be managing your very own transport company either individually or online in co-op, and you’ll be able to set up routes, expand your fleet, and drive the buses yourself.
And, alongside the release date confirmation comes news that buses from Mercedes-Benz’s eCitaro line will be included in the game. “In addition to a small two-doored, 12-meter-long, manoeuvrable eCitaro electric bus with two axles, Bus Simulator 21 will include a large three-door, 18-meter-long eCitaro G articulated bus equipped with three axles and plenty of space for passengers.”
The press release continues: “Enthusiasts will also be able to hit the road with other Mercedes-Benz buses like the Citaro G, the agile Citaro K, an up-to-date version of the Citaro O 530, the CapaCity, and the extra-long CapaCity L articulated bus.” That’s a lot of licensed buses – but apparently there’ll be over 30 in the final release, and we’re looking forward to getting behind the wheel of them all at launch.

Oh my god I want to drive a bendy bus.
0/10 - not enough ray-traced reflections
I want to drive a bus for people to Disney World
Oh! Is there a level where you drop off transients in our parking lot and they light a bike on fire and raid the staff fridge?!
Sorry bad day at work 😔
Do you have to deal with troublemakers at the back of the bus???
Never played this but whenever I see an article on it or see it in the store I am strangely tempted to buy a bus sim
100% buying this on release date. Huge 'nut' when it comes to buses and whilst I enjoyed the first one this one looks to be even better!
I can’t wait for Rome Busses DLC where you snort a cocaine hill before driving and all of sudden the bus gets on fire and everybody run out for their lives!
Unfortunately that’s a normal day in Rome....
Not realistic enough, if the bendies don't catch fire from pipe damage. Like they did in real life London. Also not realistic if passengers don't ignore every bus and catch the bendy cause its the free bus. Like in real life.
@Hatsune_Miku i just want them to put a kickdown feature in like in real life. Not just low revs ecu. I want to thrash stuff.
@NemesisSam30 Yeah that would be nice. I didn't really 'dedicate' enough time to the first one but I plan to do so on this one.
