Star War Day is upon us, and that means BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic is getting in on the celebrations today. From today, May 4th through May 11th, players who log into SWTOR can get an Astromech Droid Mini-pet for their troubles.

The new droid pet, named the M4-Y10 Astromech Droid is named after the date and year it was released (May Fourth, Year 10), celebrating the upcoming 10th anniversary of the MMORPG this December. You needn't really do anything to earn this new pet, by the way. Simply login to SWTOR during the promo period and you'll receive it in your mailbox.

"In honor of Star Wars™ Day, and to show our appreciation for all of our players in a galaxy far, far away, we're giving away the M4-Y10 Astromech Droid Mini-pet! This astromech earned its designation from The Old Republic’s 10-year anniversary, coming in December of this year. M4-Y10 is special in that it draws the inspiration for its appearance from The Bad Batch! Simply log in to The Old Republic anytime between May the 4th and May 11th, and your very own astromech mini-pet will be waiting for you in your in-game mailbox."

Additionally, the May the Fourth events will include a double XP event for two whole weeks, starting on May 4th and running through May 18th. Star Wars: The Old Republic will also be running a collection unlock sale during the period the Astromech is available for those interested.

Star Wars: The Old Republic's latest game update, 6.3 The Dark Descent recently went live last week. This new update brings a new story encounter, the Jedi Enclave, as well as hearlds the official start of SWTOR's battle pass, called Galactic Seasons. Also, in case you missed it, in other May the Fourth news, SWG Legends officially launched their Bespin expansion update today.
