Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War rolls out a new update today that brings a variety of new additions and fixes to the shooter. While it may not be one of the biggest changes to the game, the update included one of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players' most requested features.

Some exciting things came to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in today's update, including a new playlist, a Gunfight Tournament, and some much-needed fixes. Amongst all of the fixes to stability, Sticks & Stones, and everything else in the update, however, many players have let the new multiplayer feature slip by them.

With the new update, players will be able to see ping information while they are searching for a match. Ping is a measurement of how long it takes the player's game to send and receive information to the server. It is a way to measure one's internet connection to the match, with a lower ping being preferable and a higher ping possibly resulting in matches with more lag and connection issues. The feature is a standard amongst the multiplayer shooter genre, so it is a bit odd that it is just now being added to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War amongst its other various bug fixes.

While many players have also voiced complaints about Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's implementation of skill-based matchmaking, adding ping information while searching for matches has been one of the most requested features for the game by its community. Having access to ping information is very helpful for players, and allows them to ensure that they are matchmaking in lobbies with the best connections as well as helping them diagnose any issues that they are having with their matches.

The update comes shortly after Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launched its Season 3 event that brought a wide variety of new additions to the title and Call of Duty: Warzone. It is always good to see games give players requested features, and this patch is no different.

While it may not be the most exciting addition to the title, it should improve the experience of some players who have been requesting the feature. Of course, with all of the new additions to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War in recent weeks, the update makes now an even better time to jump in to the game for any new or returning players who are interested.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
