Several weeks ago, Nintendo held an Indie World Showcase, which unveiled some of the most exciting indie games set to be released on the Nintendo Switch. Alongside the showcase, Nintendo also launched a big eShop sale that offers huge discounts on some of the biggest indie games available on the Switch right now, and here are the best games players should try out.

Headlining the Nintendo eShop's Indie World Sale is Fez, available on the eShop for $13.49. For the initiated, Fez is a puzzle-platform video game originally released in 2012 and was recently ported to the Nintendo Switch last April 14. The game revolves around Gomez, who is on a journey that will take him to the very end of space after discovering a mysterious 3D dimension.

Another great indie game that players can pick up at the eShop's Indie World Sale is Ori and the Will of this Wisps, which is available right now for $23.99. Ori and the Will of the Wisps was just released last September, serving as the sequel to the critically acclaimed Ori and the Blind Forest. In the game, players will embark on an all-new adventure featuring vast and exotic worlds complete with challenging puzzles that have become the franchise's trademark.

Nintendo EShop experiencing issues

Shortly after its release last year, Ori and the Will of the Wisps received mostly positive reviews from players and critics. The positive reception received by Ori and the Will of the Wisps is hardly surprising, thanks to the developers who were able to seamlessly combine the original game's narrative charm with great platforming mechanics and a longer story. Although the game turned out to be a success on the Switch, the devs shared the difficulties of porting Ori and the Will of the Wisps on the hybrid console, especially due to the Switch's limitations.

For players looking for a great exploration title with some combat, the eShop offers the massively successful game called Terraria at a discount and is currently available for $14.99. In Terraria, players will delve deep into vast caves, fend off powerful foes, and construct their own city. Terraria blends the elements of classic action games with sandbox-style creativity, complete with crafting and several building options that are easy to master. The Switch version of Terraria offers touch screen support, allowing players to navigate inventory and seamlessly switch between weapons and tools quickly. An 8-player online play is also supported via Nintendo Switch Online, allowing players to play with their friends and family.
