All-new promotional screenshots for the Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids expansion have hit the 'net, and they... Well, have a look for yourself (thanks @ALumia_Italia on Twitter).
The DLC takes place in Ireland, as Eivor makes alliances with kings and chieftains. Eivor will also be fighting werewolves, apparently. We didn't see that one coming, and it's yet another example of Assassin's Creed delving deep into the most fantastical aspects of the series. However, for all we know, this could be some kind of dream or hallucination sequence, so try not to get too worked up just yet.
One of the screenshots also confirms what we already expected: that sickles will be a new type of weapon introduced through the expansion. What's more, we get a glimpse of new characters and new equipment — including a brutal-looking spear.
So, er, are you looking forward to slaying some werewolves? Try not to transform in the comments section below.

There’ll be an explanation. Origins and Odyssey actually did a great job at bridging the gap and giving reasons for the fantastical elements.
I love the way you guys end some of your Articles 😅
Ah that honestly makes sense, the last two games had a ton of mythology too!
I booted up the game today for about 1 hour, last time I played was back in december lol I have 13h of gameplay and honestly...I prefer Odyssey, don't know why but the characters are all boring so far in this one and the HDR looks awful on PS5. Everything looks grey at night, sometimes I don't even know if it's nighttime or daytime!
Does the game open up even more? I still have a ton of map to discover
@AFCC
This game had all the potential but fell flat . Odyssey was fantastic and interesting and groundbreaking for AC while this one seems like it’s just big to be a big game and stuffed with things to keep people busy . The games map opens up a bit but it’s very formulaic overall so it’s a bit of a letdown
I wish the Assassin's Creed franchise would never meddle with the japanese history.
I'm hoping there is at least something done differently with the environments in Ireland, versus England. Just something to make it look at least slightly different please
I was hoping for more of a Slaine the Horned God angle, rather than werewolves (not swearwolves), but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt until I play it!
@xcleverfoxx I hated odyssey. Campy characters and the world was boring. Origins was amazing though. Valhalla is almost too big though and I agree with you that it’s big for the sake of being big
@AFCC The map is way to big for its own good. Every area is just more of the same to be honest. The only time I enjoyed going to another area is when you get to go to Vineland.
@Boucho11
Lol its totally the opposite for me. I found Origins to be dull and hated the vanilla main character. I almost gave up on the franchise, but so glad Odyssey came along because I had a blast with it.
I was wondering if wolves and spears would play a significant part. Both feature a lot in Irish mythology, and wolves are still culturally important (to the point where there's often debate about bringing them back from extinction here).
Wasn't expecting werewolves though. 🤔
Edit: I suck. Forgot about the Werewolves of Ossory. 🤦♂️
Ain't nothing on my boy Dwolfg.
Actually, 1st AC game I actually enjoy playing. Happy with all the changes they have made, particularly with regards to combat system and weapon/loot system.
Huge step forward, which, honestly, should have been done in previous two installments.
@Icey664 I think most people are one way or another with those games. I loved Bayek and the Egyptian setting, don’t get me wrong, Odyssey had its moments but the campy characters ruined it for me.
@Boucho11
I actually love it when it's a bit silly lol. I think AC is at it's best when it doesn't take itself too seriously
@Boucho11 I feel the total opposite Haha I thought Origins was boring beyond boring, but I loved Odyssey! I’m having a great time with Valhalla, buuuut yeah. It’s way to big.
@nessisonett... YEAH THE Gates OF ATLANTIS With Pythagoras is amazing and very well done and executed in AC oddssey. The Minotaur storyline just pulls heart strings
@xcleverfoxx..... Ubisoft needs to upgrade the team that did Odyssey to high status in the organization. I just finished oddey last and already I really miss Alexios. Apart from Snake and gent47, Alexios is one of the Video game's protagonist that I really connected with. Also the team deserve massive applause for the world building, I have never felt in a world like I did in Odyssey, e.g. GTA is usually big in terms of world building but it never give you they feeling that you are Ina real world, it always feels gamey. They literary put Greece in a video and it feels like you really are in Greece. Oh and Socrates is just Golden.
Also Ubisoft needs to give the team that made Valiant Hearts a crack on their bigger franchises like far cry
@BoldAndBrash..... As a newbie to the series ( Odyssey is my initiation), I can say to old fans and loaysl fans of the series that what changed it from the original series first run was FAR CRY PRIMAL. Every AC game starting with Origins is a derivative of Far Cry Primal.
Also the original creator of the series now runs the studio that released Ancestors a human Odyssey.
@Boucho11... Just as an interest which Open world gaming world is exciting or interesting as I find all open world games world's and also gaming worlds boring in general once the Main story finishes, even the Witcher 3 world's is boring once you finish with the story and so is God of War.
Other that Horizon Zero Dawn's world because of the magnificently rendered mechnosaurs which is amazing even with no story a lot of open world game's are pretty boring.
@GREGORIAN fingers in ears I’m honestly so close to doing that exact quest 😂
@nessisonett...... Oh snap.... Hope I didn't spoil anything for you... Sorry about that
You feel the love the devs had for this game.
Also the best part for me is how Alexoius does not take himself oh so serious even though his life has mostly been a f up.
Yeah Ubi need to give the team that made odyssey a crack at Far Cry. I heard they made Fenix Rising and a lot of people who have played it says it is good, so this team is very talented.
By the way have you done the lead up story to the 100 hands tournament........all I can is that...........Oh my God this dev team knows how to f a person up with emotions.
For me AC oddysey is the Greek Mythology game I have always wanted ever since I was completely jaw dropped by Gerlad Butler and his 300 Spartans at the hot gates.......
@GREGORIAN Honestly, despite the rather oversized map with lots of question marks, I can see why people love this game. It nails the setting and there are a whole load of great characters. I kinda feel like they should just split the series into two so that we get the classic AC games and then they can go wild with the open world ones.
@nessisonett...... Agree 100%..... AFTER Odyssey I am not sure if I am ever going to buy Valhalla as I don't need or want an Odyssey sized journey, so it would have been nice after Odyssey to launch the old school smaller sized more social stealth assissins creed game like Forza and Forza Motorsport.
Thus would take the series to new heights and would keep it fresh
@GREGORIAN My problem with AC in general is that they stretch out their games way to much. In the start i really like them but in the end its just like watching a 3 hour movie that could have been finished in 2 way to much boring filler.
