There’s a new letter out from Ashes of Creation Creative Director, Steven Sharif. In it, he discusses the new update to the studio, in addition to the road towards the upcoming Alpha One playtest.

It looks like the team is set to move to a new studio between now and June 15. Yeah that’s a pretty wide time window, but a new studio should be nice. It looks like some finishing touches are being made to furniture installments and final construction. The team also appears to be growing as well, judging by recent calls for hiring.

Regarding development, Steven mentions that engine updates have been completed as the team has moved to a newer version of Unreal Engine 4 for Ashes of Creation development. But of course, the big talking about was Alpha One. You’ll recall that the dates for Alpha One playtesting were delayed to June 1.

It sounds like sieges may actually be part of Alpha One after all. But, Steven notes,

“I will caveat this expectation with the fact that we are cutting it a bit close from an internal QA standpoint, but I have some confidence that the system will be online and capable of inclusion for the Alpha One test in the month of June. The siege component will obviously not be representative of what the siege system will be at launch, or even in Alpha Two. I will keep you updated on its progress in our monthly live streams.”

You can check out the full letter here. In related news, a recent live stream confirmed that the team is preparing roughly 7-8 dungeons in time for Alpha One.
