The 2019 release of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint may not have met initial expectations, but Ubisoft's continued support of the tactical shooter has given it renewed life. Even now, Ubisoft continues post-launch support for Ghost Recon Breakpoint and, judging from the latest announcement, support won't be ending anytime soon. In a newly released 2021 roadmap for Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ubisoft revealed plans for at least two more significant updates coming to the game.

The first update is Ghost Recon Breakpoint's highly anticipated 4.0.0 "Teammate Experience Update," tentatively scheduled to launch at the end of spring. The Teammate Experience Update's core focus is to improve AI teammates, which were introduced in a prior update. Not only will AI teammates be more intelligent, but there will also be fun new features tying into AI squads. For example, a new XP progression system for AI teammates, new skills and abilities, plus a questlog that gifts rewards.

The other update that Ubisoft revealed is Ghost Recon Breakpoint's title update 4.1.0. While Ubisoft is willing to say that this is an update worth looking forward to, it's not ready to fully reveal its plans. All that's clear is that this will be Ghost Recon Breakpoint's next major Operation. In fact, Ubisoft describes it as one of Ghost Recon Breakpoint's biggest operations yet. All that Ubisoft is willing to say for the time being is that 4.1.0 will be launching this fall.

2021 breakpoint roadmap

These two updates make up Ubisoft's roadmap for the entirety of 2021. That doesn't mean that Ubisoft won't also provide smaller updates in-between, as it addresses any bugs that might crop up along the way. But otherwise, Ubisoft doesn't tease or hint at any further content coming for the game. This could be the final year of planned content for Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

Starting in October 2019, Ubisoft released Ghost Recon Breakpoint's very first Operation, Greenstone. It followed that up with Deep State, then Red Patriot in 2020. 2021 started strong with the most recent Operation release for Breakpoint. That being Amber Sky, which really keyed into the connection between Breakpoint, Siege, and Wildlands. It's a great status quo for looking forward to future 2021 content.

Given that the Ghost Recon franchise has a now 20-year legacy, Ubisoft's support for Breakpoint ending likely implies that the next chapter is nearing. A new game has yet to be announced by Ubisoft, of course, but with the Breakpoint 2021 roadmap in mind, Ghost Recon fans should probably be watchful of any upcoming Ubisoft events.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
