Following its release back in 2019, Borderlands 3 has achieved a remarkable amount of success. With its various online modes, DLC campaigns, and a wide range of content included in the base game, Gearbox felt it necessary to release a director's cut of Borderlands 3 on all of its current platforms. Although, it seems the successful looter-shooter will also be coming to another platform following the release of the director's cut.

Over the years, the Borderlands franchise has made its presence known on a wide variety of different platforms, even with a port of Borderlands 2 released on the PlayStation Vita back in May of 2014. Since that time, most of the games in the Borderlands series have been ported to just about every modern system currently accessible, including Nintendo Switch. While Borderlands 3 didn't initially launch on the Switch, that could be changing relatively soon.

According to the Pan European Game Information website, it seems that Borderlands 3: Director's Cut will be arriving on Nintendo Switch, in addition to all of the other platforms the base game previously released on. As of right now, no official announcement has been made, but this is not the first time PEGI has leaked potential Switch games.

It should be noted that until such time as Gearbox or 2K officially announces that the game will be launching on Nintendo Switch, fans should take this news with a grain of salt. However, the fact that Borderlands Legendary Collection is already available to purchase on Switch, it seems entirely likely that the third installment will be making an appearance on the Switch in some capacity.

Considering that Borderlands 3: Director's Cut includes brand new content, in addition to all of the DLC campaigns and add-ons that have released over the course of the last several years, this supposed Switch release will give all players on all platforms a chance to experience everything that Borderlands 3 has to offer. Right now is as good a time as any to be a Borderlands fan.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Borderlands. There has been an active amount of new content being periodically released for Borderlands 3, with some even saying that the new Director's Cut DLC will set up the next mainline entry. Then again, Borderlands 2 released back in 2012 and it took the studio a full seven years to release another installment in the series. For right now, fans have a lot to experience and appreciate in terms of Borderlands 3.

Borderlands 3 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
