The World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic's beta is ongoing and players can now start to level their toons up to 70, opening up even more content to test before the expansion launches fully later this year.

Last week, the beta for Burning Crusade Classic saw an initial level cap increase to 68 from its initial cap of 64, showing that the beta is progressing along at a good clip. As such, the level cap increase is seen as a sign that the expansion for WoW Classic could be inching closer to its full launch later this year.

With the increase to 70, that speculation is only further fueled, especially as this opens up a host of new content to test, such as Heroic Dungeons, Arena Skirmishes and more.

Via the forums post on the Blizzard forums:

With today’s build, which is now available, the Burning Crusade Beta now allows testing of all leveling content up to level 70. Additionally, we have enabled:

  • The Eye of the Storm battleground
  • Heroic dungeons
  • Arena Skirmishes

Please note that ranked/rated PvP is disabled for testing.

While raids themselves aren't listed as testable at the moment, there is plenty for level 70 characters to do with the skirmishes, battleground and the heroic dungeons now in The Burning Crusade Classic

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Classic’s beta testing has been ongoing for a few weeks now as players prepare themselves for the upcoming release on the live servers this year. TBCC isn’t the only content to be tested in WoW, as the live version’s 9.1 update, dubbed Chains of Domination, is slated to hit the PTR for Shadowlands this month. Robin, our resident WoW columnist, talked about why she is looking forward to 9.1, but isn’t entirely stressing about when it will arrive. Additionally, you can check out her initial thoughts on The Burning Crusade Classic in her Warcraft column, Arlee in Azeroth.
