It wasn't long ago that The Colonists was announced for PlayStation 4. The city-building strategy game, starring a line of self-cloning robots, was first unveiled last month, and now we have a release date for the console port. You'll be settling a peaceful planet on PS4 from 4th May 2021.
The main game will have you building structures and roads, farming livestock, and crafting all kinds of useful things from natural resources. You'll slowly build up an idyllic robo-city, and also engage in military operations against rival settlers. A Sandbox mode also lets you play freely, and there are speed-run style challenges to complete if you fancy. In terms of the console port, a press release tells us the controls have been reworked, as has the UI, so hopefully it translates to a decent experience on a controller.
It looks like it could be a pretty promising little adventure, and it's less than a month away. Will you be playing The Colonists? Tell us in the comments section below.

Roof-E? Careful there, chaps 😅
@AhabSpampurse I was thinking the same thing haha. Love your profile pic. That image is one my wife put on a mug for me with a quote from the first movie, when we were first going together!
@MightyDemon82 the appreciation is reciprocal. And she sounds like a keeper!
@AhabSpampurse Yeah I guess I didn't think that one through!
Looks cute, though I find strategy/civ games too much like work after a day of admin work from home. And why are the robots growing crops and fishing, anyway?
@Quintumply "didn't think that one through"
Thought it was a Bill Cosby shout out. 😉 (I hear Matt Gaetz is more of an X guy, and he pays for it so...)
