No Man's Sky has been quietly improving its procedurally generated space exploration game since its initial launch in 2016, and today players have received yet another update. Expeditions, which focuses in how players can play together, launched today for No Man's Sky

No Man's Sky's launch since 2016 has been anything but smooth, though the last few years has seen the survival game reap the benefits of a team that is continually supporting the procedurally generated space game. One of the major things missing from its launch was the long-touted multiplayer, being able to explore the universe together with friends was always one of the major draws of No Man's Sky, and while multiplayer has been added since then, today's update makes some big changes to make it even better.

Now, players starting out together will actually start on the same planet, meaning that players can start together from the get go. No longer will you need to get off your own planet just to travel to another system to find your friends, Expeditions ensures No Man's Sky players can do every leg of the journey together from the beginning.

Via the news on Steam today:

"Expeditions is a seasonal and community focused mode and complements the existing modes like Normal, Creative, Survival and Permadeath. Every player will start out on the same planet with a journey plotted ahead of you across the galaxy. Each traveller starts with a custom collection of technology, customisations, new ships and weapons, providing a glimpse of some of the wild possibilities in the universe."

No Man's Sky brings Shared Expeditions, an overhaul to the main core and optional missions in the game, as well as a UI and HUD overhaul. The latter brings with it many quality-of-life changes to the display, such as making it cleaner and more legible.

Expeditions will also see players being able to set Rendezvous Points in No Man's Sky, making it easier to unite and set off together.  You can check out the full exhaustive notes on the No Man's Sky website, as well as check out the new trailer showing Expeditions in action below. Recently, in case you missed it, No Man's Sky also added in Companions which you can adopt to join you across the universe.
