A new map has finally been added to Among Us, the massive whodunnit game from InnerSloth. The Airship map for Among Us was a long time coming, and fans are thrilled to finally be able to enjoy it. As the developer releases it into the wild, it also is taking time to share some future plans with the community, which apparently includes an art style revamp, bigger lobbies, and more transparency.

By some accounts, Among Us is the biggest game of all time in terms of monthly plays. While the success is something to celebrate, it also must be overwhelming for InnerSloth, a small team that likely has been caught off guard by how quickly Among Us burst onto the gaming scene. Providing a gameplan for the future is wise, and the team made some of its plans clear with a recent blog-style update.

Now that The Airship is live, InnerSloth made its three goals known to its fans. The idea of the full art style revamp is one that may seem a bit surprising. Among Us is already iconic thanks to its imagery alone, it could seem like a dangerous decision to stray too far in terms of aesthetics. According to the update, the art style has already been updated and the animation process has been cleaned up as well. Soon those changes will be implemented in-game, and it is likely the changes are not drastic, even if the term "revamp" sounds like it.

The other big change has to do with the lobby size (which has been on the Among Us wish list for some time), as InnerSloth is planning on allowing 15 players-per-game soon. The Airship map is large, so upping the size to 15 makes a lot of sense, especially with players able to set rules within each match. Lastly, it looks like InnerSloth wants to be more transparent moving forward with updates on the progress of the game's development. The tweet and blog post today is an example of the team doing just that, so it looks like InnerSloth is off to a solid start.

The success of Among Us is hard to fathom, and the game will likely spike again with the new Airship map launch. In addition to the map, Among Us released an Airship Skin Bundle as the team balances ongoing free and paid content. As long as InnerSloth continues to communicate with fans and work toward greater support for the game, the future looks bright for Among Us.

Among Us is currently available for Android, iOS, PC, and Switch. An Xbox Series X/S release is planned for 2021.
