Paladins: Champions of the Realm is as busy as ever, introducing new characters and expanding its already impressive roster very frequently. The latest to join the fight is Octavia, whose reveal trailer at the beginning of March feels like it was just yesterday. About a month later, players can now play as Octavia, brining her impressive skill as a long ranged combatant and unique support capabilities to the battlefield.

Hi-Rez studios has made it very clear that it plans to continue to support Paladins: Champions of the Realm, and Octavia the Indomitable is just one step on that path. Notably, this new character brings a lot of new mechanics to the game that aren't common in others, so players are sure to take to her quickly.

Octavia has four different options for passive skills, and players can choose between them at the start of each match. All of these emphasize her skill as a commander, providing invaluable buffs to her and her teammates. Depending on which skill players choose, their teammates might have shorter cooldowns, increased credits when defeating enemies, shields upon respawning, or faster ultimate recharge rates.

Her active skills are equally unique, giving her a way to control the battlefield from any distance. Distortion Field creates a dome that enemies cannot see into, out of, or through, while allowing allies to see without hindrance. Commanding Leap lets Octavia close gaps or create distance while surveying the battlefield, and her Creeping Barrage ultimate deals heavy damage and destroys shields in a line in front of her. Paladins: Champions of the Realm is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
