Wired Direct, the straight to gamers online show, just dropped an exclusive look at a bunch of awesome looking indie games coming in 2021.

If you, like us, aren’t going to make it onto the show floor or see any in-person events this year, then publisher Wired Productions have got you covered. Just like Nintendo’s straight o consumer updates, and probably a little less messy than Devolver Digital’s own on stage antics, Wired Productions just blew through a whole host of teaser trailers this evening, highlighting the best of their upcoming indie games for 2021.

While we might not be able to replace host Julia Hardy, we can run down everything that you might have missed in the very first Wired Direct showcase.

Tin Hearts

A gorgeous puzzler, Tin hearts is a throwback to lemmings style management sims where players will find themselves in charge of an army of toy soldiers. Developed by Rogue Sun, this mix of management and engaging narrative adventure is set to land on PC, Nintendo Switch, Oculus, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S. As you solve puzzles by stacking blocks and avoiding toy trains, you can even go all in and experience beautiful environments, and interact with objects to overcome many an objective in VR too. Tin Hearts is due to challenge your perceptions this winter.

Lumote

Due to land on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One in 2021 Lumote is utterly gorgeous. If you’re a fan of puzzle platformers and want something a little more Abzu than your normal inspired run around, then Lumote is definitely worth a look. Developed by Luminawsome games, Lumote puts you in control of a variety of squishy neon creatures, all with their own in game abilities. Across the course of Lumote you’ll delve into a world of shapes and colors. Players picking up this brain teaser must take control of its inhabitants to solve increasingly complex and varied puzzles.

Martha Is Dead

A first-person psychological thriller set at the end of the Second World War, during the Battle of Chianti, in Tuscany, Italy. Helmed by Luca Dalco, the same developer behind the stunning Town of Light, Martha Is Dead features intense moments, twists, reveals and gorgeous visuals. While the reveal doesn’t tell us a ton, it’s clear that Martha is Dead is a mystery that will make players question what they are seeing. You can catch the full trailer over on the official Steam Store page.

Arcade Paradise

Powered by nostalgia and bright flashing lights, Arcade Paradise is a love letter to button bashing arcade machines. Coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and developed by Vostok Inc, this old school throwback come arcade building experience lets you build your very own arcade, with a range of challenges to take on. Install a series of 70s style wireframe quests and blast away aliens or get in the ring with the first glimpses of early 90s 3D experiences. With 35 fully playable arcade games and plenty of bright colors, this might be as close as you can get to the real life arcade without the sticky floors and a pocket full of quarters.

The Last Worker

The Last Worker is something that stands out, even among Wired’s varied portfolio of announcements. Rather than plunge you into a world full of odd shapes or retro indulgence, The Last Worker is a narrative adventure that talks to our struggles with an increasingly complex world. Combining a hand crated art style with a uniquely immersive first person perspective looks like it will draw gamers into this emotional and thought provoking story of humanity in an automated future.

Tiny Troopers

This game might be something you recognize. As an all new follow up to the multi million selling Tiny Troopers franchise, this installment might have the same name as the squad-based multidirectional shooter that launched back in 2012, but you’ll find a ton of new content features and graphics for this newest adventure on PC: Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

The Falconeer

Alongside the brand new announcements, the Wired Direct showcase also highlighted a range of updates to several existing titles. The recently released high flying adventure The Falconeer now has a new DLC. Called Atun’s Folly, the new add on for The Falconeer will take players soaring above the Great Ursee to discover Atun’s Folly, a Pirate settlement and take on missions to raid the Imperium’s wealthy traders. You can grab Atun’s Folly right now for free on Steam and Xbox One and Xbox X|S.

Deliver Us The Moon

This gorgeous looking sci-fi thriller is getting a next gen upgrade. Due to land on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, Deliver Us The Moon looks good enough on current systems, but with the added power of the latest platforms, this post-apocalyptic mystery is set to launch a whole new fleet of astronauts to the moon on a do or die missions. Wired are also including current owners of Deliver us the Moon in this update, handing it out for free if you own the game already. With ray tracing tech, improved next gen audio, and insanely faster loading times this is going to be one pretty outer space adventure.

To check out the event itself, head over to the official replay for the Wired Direct showcase for more details, and check out the Steam Store to fill your wishlist with all these indie games coming later this year.
