World of Warcraft Is Addressing Vengeance Demon Hunter Bug In Next Weekly Reset

10% damage reduction coming to Tank Specializations

Blizzard made the announcement today via the forums that they will be addressing a bug with Vengeance Demon Hunter magic damage in World of Warcraft's  upcoming weekly reset on March 30th. With this reset will also see some changes to Tank passives.

Blizzard made the announcement on the World of Warcraft forums today, detailing their reasoning for addressing this now instead of down the road in a patch. Citing the "magnitude of the bug," Blizzard opted for addressing the issues surrounding the Vengeance Demon Hunter now rather than later.

The bug saw Vengeance Demon Hunters in World of Warcraft receiving about 15% less magic damage than they should have.

"Recently, players observed that Vengeance Demon Hunters seemed to be receiving up to 15% less magic damage than expected. We have investigated and found the bug causing this.

When a specialization is overperforming in raid and dungeon content, we prefer to wait to rein them in until the next major patch that brings with it all-new challenges, different gear, and other changes that shake up balance. This is because even if we’re improving overall balance, mid-tier nerfs can cause entire groups to potentially struggle with raid or dungeon content they could previously complete without issue, and this is especially true for the tank role."

As such, in the weekly maintenance coming on March 30th, Blizzard is addressing this, as well as making some changes to offset the effect this change will have on groups running a Vengeance tank. To fix the bug, Blizzard is increasing the Demon Hunter passive, Demonic Wards, by 5%. Passives for other tank specializations, such as the Veteran of the Third War for Blood Knights, will see a reduction in damage taken by 10%.

In case you missed it, Blizzard also tweaked how Game Time can be purchased, doing away with the 30, 90 and 180 day options yesterday, as well as raid and class tuning with the most recent maintenance.
