Now that Pokemon GO Tour Kanto is in the rearview mirror, it's time for players who participated to move on to the first incredibly long timeframe Masterwork Research and earn an encounter with Shiny Mew.

The Masterwork Research is unlocked by completing the Tour Kanto Special Research quest line. Players who have accomplished that task unlock the lengthy Masterwork Research, which is not timed (luckily) and offers Pokemon GO players some very challenging tasks to complete on their path towards that Shiny Mew encounter at the end of the road.

Once players have met the requirements, the Masterwork Research should automatically show up in their list of ongoing research storylines. There are only three steps of quests (and one step of free reward claiming), but that doesn't mean it will be an easy task. Many of these challenges will be time consuming, even if they are simple, so expect to complete this chain over a longer period of time than Special Research usually requires.

Earning the Shiny Mew encounter will take players as long it takes to complete the following tasks (without any time limit enforced). The challenge will vary in length for players, depending on how often they are logging in, but many of these tasks will likely take weeks (or sometimes months) for the average player.
