Today, Square Enix held a special presentation showcasing what the publisher has been working on. While the big announcement coming out of the show was a first look at Forspoken, previously known as Project Athia, fans also got some updates on Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider franchise. While fans aren't getting a new game, it seems that Croft will be making her way into some other major titles.

Following the official reveal of the Tomb Raider 25th Anniversary CollectionSquare Enix teased Lara Croft coming to both Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Square Enix didn't elaborate much as to what the content will entail, but if prior examples are any indication, players should have a decent idea of what to expect from at least the Ghost Recon event, while Final Fantasy is a bit more difficult to guess at.

In the past, Ghost Recon Breakpoint has collaborated with Splinter CellPredator, and more, typically introducing some sort of limited-time mission where players get to collaborate – or work against – whatever figure has been added to the game. Given Ghost Recon Breakpoint's tropical island setting, it's easy to see the potential that a crossover with Tomb Raider has.

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is no stranger to crossover events, either. In the past, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius has added Kingdom Hearts characters and ran an event with Final Fantasy 7 Remake, so it's safe to assume that Tomb Raider fans will get to experience something similar to that when it goes live. Crossovers are a great way to get fans of a franchise invested in new games, so it does make sense that Square Enix is working with other major games.

It's certainly interesting to see Lara Croft re-enter the conversation, even if it's not in as big of a way as some fans might have hoped. Her last game was 2018's Shadow of the Tomb Raiderwith little in the way of new announcements since then. Some fans had speculated that Square Enix would announce a big new game to coincide with the anniversary celebration, but that wasn't the case.

However, Square Enix Presents will return this summer with more new announcements, so fans may hear good news later on down the line. It's too early to tell what those announcements will be, and it isn't a great idea to get one's hopes up, but it could be what fans are waiting for. In the meantime, they'll just have to enjoy the crossover content.

Tomb Raider crossovers have been announced for Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.
