The Outer Worlds PS5

Phwoar, this is what we absolutely love to see. Ahead of its final piece of DLC content, The Outer Worlds has received a patch that allows the game to run at 60 frames-per-second on PlayStation 5. Available to download right now, the patch weighs in at roughly 26GB. One user has already shared what the 2019 RPG looks like running at double the frame rate on Twitter, which you can catch below.

And just to be absolutely clear, this is a patch for the PS4 version of the game. Obsidian has not issued a current-gen PS5 version of The Outer Worlds.

This is a very welcome update for a title that already supported a 4K resolution but suffered from long load times on PS4. We're yet to hear whether this new update has fixed those, but we'll be sure to let you know if they have. We rated the base game a 9/10 when it launched a few years back while the first DLC instalment, Peril on Gorgon, was a solid addition to the role-playing experience. We're sure will be said of Murder on Eridanos, which is out on Wednesday.

Will you revisit The Outer Worlds with this patch enabled on PS5? Talk your way out of this one in the comments below.
