Twitch streaming can be a very involved full time gig. Long hours and a near constant presence on the platform is generally what it takes to attract and retain followers and subscribers while taking time off usually means a substantial drop off in viewership. As such, streamers will often be online 6 or 7 days a week which has a tendency to lead to burnout. World of Warcraft streamer Asmongold stepped away from Twitch in January, but after a nearly two month break looks to be coming back to streaming.

Asmongold has been a huge figure in the World of Warcraft streaming scene for a while now, having amassed nearly 2 million followers on Twitch. While Asmongold has dabbled in other games, the main draw for fans is his World of Warcraft content. Much like Ninja is the face of Fortnite, Asmongold is similarly the face of WoW, or at least one of the most widely known WoW figures.

In a Tweet, Asmongold lets his fans know that he will return to streaming on March 16th. He entices fans to tune in as there "will be a lot to talk about." It could very well be that the update and the hype surrounding future WoW content pulled him back in. World of Warcraft just released an update fine tuning a lot of systems in the game. The extensive patch notes for World of Warcraft update 9.0.5 cover a wide range of fixes, chief among them adjustments to Covenant and Legendary gear tuning, and tweaks to classes including Death Knight.

One of the bigger announcements for World of Warcraft fans at BlizzCon this year was the announcement of the Chains of Domination update coming to WoW sometime in the future. The update promises a new region to explore, and massive raids and dungeons for players to tackle. To have sat out streaming while BlizzCon was on, Asmongold missed the opportunity to react live, so returning to his Twitch stream, there will likely be a lot of talk about these future WoW plans.

When Asmongold took his break from streaming, he mentioned that there were a number of reasons why the break was needed. When streaming takes up all of one's time, other areas of life often get neglected. That same grind is why PewDiePie dialed back his YouTube output. The video Asmongold shared on Twitter announcing his return shows the streamer looking refreshed, so hopefully the break gave him time to take care of himself.
