Game Rant recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Dragon Ball Demon Breaker's creative director, lead game designer, and producer, RedabCho. During the interview, RedabCho shared some great stuff about the upcoming fan Dragon Ball game (which accepts no donations, is not for profit, and is no way connected to the DBZ IP owners), but also took a moment to mention a new personal project of his own. At the time, RedabCho was unable to share any specific details about what he's working on, but he did drop a few hints that are worth looking into. Most exciting, RedabCho gave a timeline so that fans could know when to expect an official reveal of this new project, assuming all things go as planned.

Dragon Ball Demon Breaker is the very first Devil May Cry-inspired Dragon Ball game, and it's being developed by the talented fans of the SaiyaSlash Team. RedabCho is taking the lead on the project, focusing on game design elements and the like, but it seems that despite his toil over the fan game, he still has his eyes on the future as well.

I didn't plan on announcing it just yet. I just wanted to say that I'm working on something and it's not Dragon Ball. It's definitely going to be something connected to it, there is a sense of connection to that, but I'm working on something and when the time comes, I'll announce it.

RedabCho was intentionally vague in his wording here, and it's clear that he didn't want to reveal too much too early. What fans do know from this is that whatever this new project is, it isn't Dragon Ball game like Demon Breaker. He goes on to say that it's connected in some way, but doesn't give much more than that. What this adjacent game could be remains to be seen. It could be an original IP that is similar to Dragon Ball, it could be another anime game based off of a different Shonen, or it could be any number of things, only time will tell.

It's a new personal project. But we're in the middle of conceptualization, I have nothing to discuss as of yet. But hopefully once the time comes and once things feel settled... Maybe by the end of this year or the beginning of next year, there will be an announcement.

When asked further, RedabCho confirmed that this is a personal project. The game is still a ways out since it is still in the conceptualization stage, but RedabCho does give a general timeframe. If things all go well, fans may get an announcement by the end of the year or the start of next year. This is reliant on Dragon Ball Demon Breaker's launch going smoothly and negotiations with whoever he's working with as well, but it seems likely that fans will learn more within the next year or so.

RedabCho's work on Demon Breaker is far from over, however, as the game is scheduled for a full release in the Summer of 2021. Those interested in seeing what it's all about should be sure to check out the Dragon Ball Demon Breaker demo that's releasing this month, and stay tuned for the full interview transcript. There are a lot of exciting things coming to Demon Breaker thanks to RedabCho and his team's hard work, so invested fans won't want to miss any of it.
