What is the Right Decision? PlayStation 5 or Xbox X?

Consoles 2021

We are months away since the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X were released but patrons are still waiting for a chance to purchase the new game system. Availability is scarce these days, so if anything, it gives you as the consumer a chance to read more reviews about the product before you make your purchase.

There’s no word on when stores will be fully stocked with these new systems. That’s largely to do with the chip storages across the industry. Nobody is able to keep up with the global demand, partially due to the pandemic. There is so much that you can do with either system. From placing a bet on sports to watching your favorite live stream, you certainly get the most of your money, but in the end, the debate comes down to which console is supreme?

Game passes

When you get the opportunity to pick between Sony and Microsoft, there isn’t a clear-cut winner. It’s unfortunately not that easy. It all comes down to what you want across the board. For starters, Xbox offers the elusive game pass, which allows gamers to access a library of games that you can play for “free” for monthly purchase of $10.99 per month. The game pass is highly regarded by reviewers because many of the games feature a nice blend of new and old.

PlayStation does not offer anything like this but is regarded as one of the best consoles for sports games. With cross-platform integrated, there are many multiplayer games available, so it again comes down to what you want as the gamer.

Comparing controllers

The DualSense controller for PS5 is considered a major upgrade compared to the DualShock 4 for PS4. It adds feedback and trigger resistance. Microsoft implemented something similar with the Xbox One controller but you should view the PlayStation controller as an upgraded Xbox controller. Everything that the Xbox controller can do is available for the PS5.

With that said, the Xbox controller owns a new “share” button, which was adapted from the DualShock 4. It also has a modified D-pad, which was taken from the Xbox Elite Controller. Finally, in case you were wondering, Xbox has not built-in rechargeable batteries yet.

Conclusion

Neither lineup boasted a brand new slew of games to help with their promotion. PS5 offered Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon’s Souls, and Godfall. Meanwhile, Xbox offered Gears 5, Forza Horizon 4, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

If you are stuck with deciding, then go the easy route. Buy the game system that your friends own. At least that way you still get the social component of playing. In the end, there is no wrong game system. Both companies have done everything that could possibly do to make your gaming experience the best. Both offer solid consoles, controllers, and games. Pick the option that is right for you.
