Were you disappointed with last year’s critically maligned XIII remake? RICO London, an upcoming cel-shaded first-person shooter from Numskull Games and Ground Shatter may just plug the gap. Due out in June on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, the game’s set in England’s capital prior to the Millennium, on New Year’s Eve in 1999.

“While everyone is getting ready to party the metropolitan police are working overtime,” reads the official blurb. “Detective Inspector Redfern finds herself at the scene of an emerging arms trade at the foot of a high-rise tower. Without the permission of her superior or support of back-up, Redfern prepares to kick off the new Millennium with a bang.”

It’s being billed as a co-operative shooter, but you’ll be able to play solo if you prefer. Judging by the trailer, manipulating time is a big feature, as you use slow-mo to gain the upper-hand on your adversaries. You’ll also be able to customise your loadout with different weapons and perks. The trailer embedded above should give you a rough idea of what to expect.
