Ubisoft 2020 Assassin's Creed Valhalla Sales

Ubisoft's most recent financial results are in, and it's been one heck of a quarter for the French giant. In fact, it was the company's strongest quarter ever, "by far", according to the publisher's official statement to the press. Crazy.

A busy release schedule formed the backbone of this success, spearheaded by the record-breaking Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The open world action RPG was joined by the likes of Watch Dogs Legion and Immortals Fenyx Rising last year — two games that didn't really stand out, but it all adds up, especially since all three titles launched on both last-gen and current-gen consoles. This smattering of new games led to Ubisoft recording sales of $1.21 billion — a massive 120 per cent increase year-on-year.

Ubisoft also emphasises its "powerful catalogue" of existing products, essentially stating that its older games are still making a lot of money. Purely in terms of unit sales, Ubisoft says that it was the most successful publisher of 2020.
