The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will save its trip across Middle-earth until 2022 as Daedelic Entertainment enters a publishing partnership with Nacon to bring the game to PlayStation 5. Originally thought to be launching at some point this year, the tale which takes place before the events of the paperback trilogy will be "faithfully represented" thanks to another team-up with Middle-earth Enterprises, a press release states.
The game will include multiple player-made decisions throughout the story to allow you to base Gollum on your own tastes, choosing to either give in to the creature's darker side or not. Then you must scale the environment and sneak past the sort of monstrosities you would typically encounter in Mordor — it really does sound like it'll play a lot like Styx: Master of Shadows and its sequel. Now we must wait another year to see if that makes for a good game or not.

I think this is good news. While I'm interested in any game based on Lord of the Rings, everything I've read about or seen on this one looked half-baked. I hope they take the time to refine their idea of gameplay.
Yeah... let’s hope this looks like less of a PS2 game by then!

The year of game delay 2021.
The year of console stock issues 2021.
The year of gaming dissatisfaction 2021.
My expectations are probably the lowest they have ever been for gaming, for decades.
I'm happy about this, looked fairly crude what I last saw of it! I want it to be good but I really don't think it will be unfortunately. An odd choice for a LOTR game I always thought.
Well at this point I'm glad now I can't get a ps5 what with the scalpers and games keep getting put back too next year.
Looks like for the most part the ps5 will be a gloryfied ps4 till next year with all the games getting delayed
Love the franchise, but this game looks absolute dog. Probably wise to postpone it's release, maybe change Gollums face as well.
Shame they had to delay i am looking forward to this game!
The game obviously needed the delay, so I'm happy it got some more breathing room.
