In the latest Developer Q&A for Atlas, the crew introduces their new Community Manager ‘Conch’. The team also answers a number of questions, while introducing another new underwater creature to tame, a giant Seahorse.
Despite showing off a lot of new rideable creatures, the team wanted to stress to players that they are not neglecting optimization, bug fixes, or new content:
“We would also like to stress that we are not neglecting optimization and bug fixes in favor of new content. We hear your concerns and understand that there is a lot we need to continue to fix and improve. The team of engineers who work on optimization and fixes are different from the team of designers that implement new content. We are fixing elements of the game while developing new content in tandem”

The Q&A that followed generally touched on a number of requested features, and where they are in the games’ development. You can read the in-depth Q&A directly on their Steam community page, which is recommended as we can’t touch on everything here, but a short summary of the entirety of the questions can be broken down to a quote by the team in their final note:
“...We would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, meaning many things can and will likely continue to drastically change - even in the middle of development. Anything discussed is only up to date as of the moment it is posted.”

Atlas recently released their first update of 2021, which introduced dolphin taming.
