Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has a wide variety or armor and clothing. Some of these are more suited for stealth while others provide useful bonuses when in combat. Most of the armor sets can simply be acquired by collecting the different pieces of gear. One of the more difficult to obtain armor sets in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the Huldufolk set, and it might upset some players.

Armor in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla falls within three major archetypes: Bear, Wolf, and Raven. Bear armor is better suited for melee combat and physical attributes. Wolf armor adds to archery skills and ranged capabilities. Raven armor helps players better assassinate from the shadows. One of these Raven sets is the much-discussed Huldufolk set, but it cannot be simply picked up in the game like most of the other armor sets.

How To Obtain

The Huldufolk armor set is purchased in the Valhalla store. The price for this powerful set is 1,500 Helix credits. Many players were immediately upset by this, as purchasable gear have become a very heated discussion in the last several years of gaming. The good news here is that, since the game is single player and the set comes with all of the pieces already gathered, players can immediately equip a full set of armor without worrying about being too overpowered compared to other players. The armor itself gives Eivor the appearance of a shadowy assassin with black cloth and silver metal plates complete with a ninja-style mask.

What Comes With It

The good news is that this store purchase doesn’t just come with the armor set—which is five pieces by itself. Also included in this bundle is the Hrimfaxi mount, Night Heron skin for the player’s raven companion, and the Huldufolk Blade and Shield weapons. 1,500 may seem like a lot to spend for just one of these things, but several pieces of gear plus these extras helps to even the scale quite a bit.

Armor Bonus

The armor itself is great for players who try to play stealthy but sometimes can’t always finish the job. The special set bonus increases Eivor’s Attack stat after an assassination. This bonus can be increased up to five times, so players can stealthily take down several enemies before engaging in combat with another. The armor set also increases Speed and Armor.

Some players have reported not being able to access their armor set once purchased. The best fix for this issue so far is simply to progress further into the story until it is made available to the player. Beginning the quest “The Family Matters” seems to resolve this issue for many players. Regardless of whether players get this armor set for Eivor or decide to pass, it will be interesting to see what other types of content are added to the store in the future.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
