There isn't much time left for players to participate in Pokemon GO's Sinnoh Celebration Event where certain Sinnoh Pokemon have increased spawn rates among other special opportunities. This event will be ending on Sunday, January 17th at 8:00 pm in players' local times.

Among the Pokemon getting increased spawn rates for this event are the Sinnoh starter Pokemon. This means that Pokemon GO players that want to get their hands on Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup and their evolutions will be able to do so much more easily.

While it is great for players to be able to get these Pokemon much more easily during the Sinnoh Celebration Event, these spawns also make it easier for shiny hunters looking for specific shiny Pokemon. Shiny Turtwig especially can be found more easily if players use their tools wisely.

Turtwig is a pure grass-type Pokemon that evolves into Grotle with 25 Turtwig candies. Grotle is another pure grass-type that then can evolve into Torterra with 100 more Turtwig candies. After evolving into Torterra, the Pokemon will be a dual grass and ground-type Pokemon. Its best moveset has it knowing Razor Leaf for its fast move and Frenzy Plant for its charge move.

The shiny form for Turtwig is more on the subtle side compared to other shiny Pokemon. While a normal Turtwig's green could be described as a leafy green, a shiny Turtwig is more of a minty green. The best way to tell is to look for the more bluish undertones in Turtwig's colors. That will signify it being shiny.

In order to find a shiny Turtwig, players will need to be prepared to go through many encounters as players won't be able to tell if a Pokemon is shiny or not from the overworld map. The reveal will only be seen once players enter the encounter with the Pokemon. It's recommended to catch as many Turtwigs as possible however in order to collect Turtwig candy for powering up and evolution.

To increase the spawn rates, players should be using whatever incenses and lures they have. However, if players are going to be staking out near a PokeStop in search of a shiny Turtwig, it is recommended that players use a Mossy Lure instead of a normal one. Mossy Lures increase the spawn rates of grass, bug, and poison-type Pokemon, making Turtwig more likely to appear than not.

There currently is no way to guarantee finding a shiny Pokemon in the wild, but players that put the effort in the hunt or just have good luck might just be able to find this Pokemon.
