World of Warcraft Shadowlands has been out for long enough that the endgame players are starting to work learn exactly what it takes to defeat Mythic Castle Nathria, not just in terms of fight strategy, but also in terms of party composition. Although a player who knows the fight and plays their class well is always going to be better than a highly-ranked spec played by an unskilled, it is still interesting to consider which classes currently have the highest potential DPS.

Luckily, thanks to some serious World of Warcraft number-crunchers that is data we're able to obtain. After a few weeks of swarming Mythic Castle Nathria, the data masters over at Wowhead have updated their top DPS rankings to reflect where every DPS spec currently stands and how they have changed from the previous week.

The average player should definitely not feel too concerned if their class and spec of choice is ranking at the bottom of this list. Keep in mind that the numbers would likely only play out exactly like this if every player involved was hitting their rotation perfectly. As WoW players know, that is very rarely the case in any party, even the most organized ones...

Best Shadowlands DPS by Spec (Mythic Castle Nathria data)

1 Affliction Warlock

2 Windwalker Monk

3 Unholy Death Knight

4 Balance Druid

5 Marksmanship Hunter

6 Fire Mage

7 Outlaw Rogue

8 Elemental Shaman

9 Shadow Priest

10 Feral Druid

11 Retribution Paladin

12 Havoc Demon Hunter

13 Arms Warrior

14 Subtlety Rogue

15 Beast Mastery Hunter

16 Arcane Mage

17 Enhancement Shaman

18 Destruction Warlock

19 Demonology Warlock

20 Frost Death Knight

21 Fury Warrior

22 Survival Hunter

23 Assassination Rogue

24 Frost Mage

Again, Frost Mages and Assassination Rogues have nothing to be ashamed of just because they are coming in at the bottom of this list. If anything, that just means that some future balance tweaks may give their classes a bit of a boost to help bring them up a bit.

It's also worth noting that different specs excel at different things. It's possible that if the data were to be compared to performance in single target vs group, Mythic dungeons instead of Mythic Raids, or PvP instead of PvE; the rankings would shake out very differently for every class and spec.

Shadowlands is still a very young expansion all things considered and there is a lot of time for groups to continue mastering this endgame content and new fights and bosses will be on the way that will continue to shape the evolving endgame landscape. Until then, players have plenty of choices for how to spend their time in Shadowlands, whether they are interested in dungeons, raids, Torghast, World Questing, or PvP.
