While many first-person and third-person shooters tend to carry a more realistic theme, Fortnite has found mass appeal with its more cartoony art style, opening the door to strange crossovers like The Walking Dead and other big events. Now in it's 15th season overall, the game continues to capture the hearts of many, keeping players coming back over and over with new content including skins, weapons, and more.

Fortnite typically allows players to use standard weapons such as assault rifles, pistols, and shotguns, but it has been known to throw more wacky weapons in the mix as well, like the seasonal Pumpkin Launcher, the iconic Boogie Bomb, and the recently added Big Chill. While the game keeps its existing weapons in a regular rotation, it's never afraid to throw new ones in the mix, and players may be seeing some more of these wacky weapons come to Fortnite soon based on recent leaks.

A datamine by Twitter user ximton has leaked a couple of strange weapons not currently in the game: the Gnome Gun and the Troll Launcher. Although Fortnite has had a humorous and perplexing inclusion of gnomes in challenges for a while, these leaked weapons seem to take that to another level.

The Fortnite leaker demonstrated the two weapons in videos posted to Twitter, noting that they believe the weapons were likely only used by developers for testing or planned but eventually scrapped. The leaked Gnome Gun looks like a pistol, specifically the Hand Cannon, that shoots gnomes with an electricity effect added when firing a shot. The Troll Launcher, on the other hand, comes with its own in-game description, stating that it is a heavy weapon which launches explosive trolls. In ximton's video, the weapon appears unfinished, simply appearing as Fortnite's stock rocket launcher weapon.

Although the inclusion of gnomes in Fortnite has mostly been relegated to the game's weekly challenges, Trolls have only appeared in Fortnite's paid Save the World game mode as an enemy. If the leaked Troll Launcher weapon were to appear in Fortnite's more popular battle royale mode, it would be the creature's first appearance there, if it even took on the same appearance that it does in Save the World.

For the time being, Fortnite players currently have their hands full with Chapter 2, Season 5 still being rather fresh, daily Operation Snowdown challenges, and a variety of rotating Limited-Time Modes. Only time will tell whether players will ever get to use the Gnome Gun and Troll Launcher for themselves.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
