Thanks to player feedback and the developer's own data collection process, Bungie has become aware of an issue that is currently impacting Destiny 2 players' PVP experiences. This specifically has to do with the Trials of Osiris competitive event that recently returned to the game after having been removed due to balance issues and exploits that would have made the activity unfair for honest players.

As is often the case with these issues as they appear, the Bungie Help Twitter account has responded to fans, acknowledging that the developer has seen an issue with the Flawless Chests in Destiny 2. Additionally, Bungie's Senior Community Manager has elaborated further on the new issue that has appeared and has given players both a more detailed explanation, as well as a realistic timeframe for a fix.

The specifics of the issue are that the adept weapons, a special reward for earning a flawless run in Trials of Osiris, are not dropping at the rate that Bungie intended for players who make multiple runs in a week. While the first flawless run is properly rewarding players, it seems as though subsequent runs are splitting the rewards between the milestone rewards at three wins, five wins, seven wins, and a new flawless. This is causing players to open the Flawless Chest and not receive the correct reward, as well as allowing some to gain rewards earlier than intended.

An additional response by Bungie's Senior Community Manager has also commented on when a fix could be available, stating that it might not come until later in Destiny 2's current season. This does at the very least mean that players won't have to wait until the next season's patch for the issue, and that more hotfixes are likely on the way at the moment. However, anyone looking to jump back into Trials of Osiris at the moment may have to be a little more careful as they make multiple flawless runs to notice if and when they are receiving their adept rewards.

As far as the issues that have plagued Destiny 2 before, especially since the Beyond Light update launched, this is one of the more minor annoyances to appear. This isn't likely the kind of bug that will affect most players, and it does seem like the rewards are at least working for initial runs on each character in any given week. However, for players that do frequently make flawless Trials of Osiris runs, it can definitely be disappointing to reach the end and not be given a proper reward for opening the Flawless Chest.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
