One of the games that has continuously kept players' attention in 2020 is Mediatonic and Devolver Digital's Fall Guys. The game has garnered both critical and player praise, with some believing the innovative take on the battle royale formula is one of the best indie games of 2020. And now, in an effort to generate more hype for the launch of its third season, Mediatonic has revealed new details for several new levels as well as features coming to the game.

Fall Guys Season 3 is set to launch worldwide on December 15. The new season was unveiled at The Game Awards with a chilly trailer set to the classic song 'Winter Wonderland.' The trailer shows the playable "beans" dressed in various winter-themed costumes such as a penguin, a snowman, and Krampus.

The new season continues this icy theme into its new levels as well. According to the Fall Guys Twitter account, players can expect seven new courses in the update. While some of these levels are wintery renditions of Fall Guys classics (such as Thin Ice, a slick rendition of Hex-a-Gone), others are completely new. Perhaps one of the most interesting sounding games is Pegwin Pursuit where players will need to chase down the "Pegwin" and hold it to earn points.

The new Fall Guys season will also introduce several new features for players to enjoy. Players will now be able to climb through the Crown Ranks (a ranking system based on crowns won) to earn exclusive rewards. Those with an Amazon Prime subscription will also be able to link their accounts and earn other exclusive in-game content, but this content has not been detailed at this time. Select Steam players will also be getting an invitation to try out a Private Streamer Lobby feature that will require a minimum of 40 players to start.

Along with new features, levels, and costumes, players will receive a variety of bug fixes in the Season 3 update. Some notable fixes including removing the invisible platform on Royal Fumble, and improving the issue on Fall Mountain where grabbing the crown didn't end the match.

It seems that players are continuing to enjoy the multiplayer mayhem of Fall Guys several months after launch. The indie title from Devolver Digital and Mediatonic won Best Community Support at The Game Awards and considering the positive social media engagement on Twitter, Fall Guys seems to have earned it.

Fall Guys is available now on PC and PS4.
