Persona 5 Strikers Officially Announced for Western Release in February 2021

It finally happened

Will be the first Musou game I try. Hope its great!

Finally. I wasn't far off from my prediction of being announced around the end of Q3 and releasing mid to the end of Q4.

I've been avoiding watching any footage of this, because I was hoping for a Western release. It's finally happening!!!

I really hate all those leaks happening in recent years. We can't ever get surprised with official announcements anymore. It's just like "oh... Ok, I guess it's confirmed now..."

Sooo what is this game, exactly? lol

Is Kawakami playable? Is Makoto playable? If yes to one of those, I'm in.

Can someone explain the difference between the base game, royal, scramble and strikers? I want to play P5 but all this is confusing

P5 - base game is a JRPG.
P5 Royal: It's like the base game, with more content. Extra options, another playable character, an extra semester at the end. Think of it like a GOTY edition with all the DLC.
P5 Scramble/Strikers: It's all just one game despite the words used. It's a direct sequel to P5 story-wise, but the turn-based JRPG combat system has been replaced with a musou-style action combat system instead.

@Danloaded Persona 5 Strikers directly follows the original persona 5.

Persona 5 Royal adds an extra term with additional story content to Persona 5, and some new characters, and some other improvements to the level design.

Royal is a bit more expensive to pick up but you do get a more fleshed out story and various new endings. The main things to keep in mind once you complete the game is to check where the original Persona 5 ended, because that is where Strikers will pick up (Without Persona 5 Royal added characters).

Strikers will also play a bit differently (combat wise) from the mainline Series but all the character development will be there from the mainline Series.

A bit long winded to explain but hope that helps.

Playing through Royal now and recently platinumed Persona 5: Dancing In Starlight so I'm really excited about Strikers. I also got Persona Q2 on the 3DS which is mainly focused on the P5 cast from what I understand.

Pretty hyped for Scramble, im not a fan of the Dynasty Warriors game style but like Hyrule Warriors this could be a blast (played through the demo a few times)

@Kopite it's only £10 on the PS Store now if you're tempted. Be warned that Hard and the unlockable All Night difficulties are brutal, though. 😭

Fortunately you don't need to play them to unlock everything and plat it.

its been in my basket for the last week (along with Hollow Knight) but I really want a boxed copy of it, I know ill probably buckle and buy it on the last day its on sale 😄

I doubt I'd platinum it but it would be a nice workaround for platting a Persona game I guess

Yes please yes please yes please!!! University comes back that week for me so i'm kind of devastated buuuuut i'll just have to fit it in I guess! I hope we get a special edition announced soon.

@Kopite @Jayslow worth pointing out that this technically isn't a musou game, though it shares some of it's trappings. There is a lot more to it than battles against large groups of enemies.

@Orpheus79V I know I've played the demo and watch a little gameplay online, its base gameplay is Warriors style waves of enemies. Like I said it worked for Hyrule Warriors and ive enjoyed what I played in the demo, really looking forward to gwtting my hands on it.
