Anyone that managed to get their hands on Helldivers knows how much fun it was. The goofy humor, hectic co-op gameplay, and social elements all worked together to make the experience truly unique. For those players wanting more of the same, the Arrowhead Game Studios, the group behind that title, is making a new game for next generation consoles.

Fans may remember Helldivers from when it was free on PS Plus way back in February of 2016, and the studio's other major game, Magicka, was free for subscribers before that in November of 2015. Though they're getting on in age, both of these titles are still a blast to play with friends, so fans of the studio are excited to see what comes next.

Supposedly, this new title will be a 3rd person, co-operative shooter just like Helldivers, but will feature next generation graphics, a unique co-op system, and ways for the player base as a whole to affect the course of the game. This is reminiscent to Helldiver's war mechanics, where the entire player base had to work together in order to defeat the alien races. What form this will take in its new title remains to be seen.

Above is a first look at what fans can expect from the upcoming title, hinting at some type of desolate landscape or desert environment. Arrowhead Game Studios is still in the hiring process for this title, so fans shouldn't expect to see too much anytime soon, but fans can anticipate the same iconic humor that Arrowhead is known for.

Helldivers is available now on PS4.
