Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to be integrated with Call of Duty: Warzone next week, with fans wondering if anything special would be done to commemorate the occasion. Based on a new leak for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, a nuke event may be coming to Verdansk, explaining the upcoming Warzone changes.

How deep the upcoming nuke event will be is unclear, though given the complex Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War reveal in Warzone, the Call of Duty developers will likely do something special regarding the launching of the Verdansk nuke. Added back during the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War reveal, the nuke has remained in Verdansk, sitting safe and un-launched. However, if the cosmetic items discovered via a recent leak mean anything, that Warzone nuke may soon be decimating a portion of the map.

Posted by a Twitter account going by the name Call of Duty Leaks, two datamined cosmetics seem to point to the launching of the nuke alongside the return of a fan favorite Blackout location. While most of the previously leaked cosmetics for Black Ops Cold War will surely be unlocked via the Season 1 Battle Pass, this emblem and calling card may be awarded to those participating in the supposed Warzone nuke event.

The emblem showcases a creative design for the Soviet Union’s iconic hammer and sickle flag, with the sickle being remade to show a missile launching — something that could be a nod to Warzone’s nuke. With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s campaign providing the perfect storyline explanation for such a nuke to go off, as Operation Greenlight saw nuclear bombs hidden around the world, the emblem seems like a major hint toward the rumored event happening.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s nuke event is expected to change the map drastically if it happens, kicking off Call of Duty: Warzone’s new era with a bang. While numerous locations have been datamined and discussed, none have been as tantalizing as the island that is supposedly coming to Warzone. Gamers have theorized that the leaked Call of Duty: Warzone island would be Alcatraz from Blackout, and it seems like this calling card confirms the prison's arrival. Showing Alcatraz in clear detail, the cosmetic item all but confirms that the area will arrive following the nuke event.

While Alcatraz may be arriving too late to raise Black Ops Cold War’s Metacritic score, it should still be a welcome addition to those enjoying the game. With visual evidence of this new location and a nuke event on the way, the next few weeks are going to be interesting for Call of Duty fans.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
