Cyberpunk 2077 has suffered multiple delays this year, but it appears that CD Projekt Red will be able to meet its December 10 release date target this time around. Despite the postponement of the game, it appears that this did not deter players from pre-ordering Cyberpunk 2077, now that CD Projekt confirmed that the volume of pre-orders it is "visibly higher" than any Witcher game.

The developer revealed this information during a recent earnings call where it assured shareholders that Cyberpunk 2077 would most definitely release on December 10. According to CD Projekt Red, all revenues derived from Cyberpunk 2077 are presented in its balance sheet as deferred revenues. The deferred revenue of CD Projekt Red for Q3 2020 clocks in at PLN 77,7 million and the studio confirms that "this is the biggest increase of deferred revenues we ever experienced." While this figure could come from any other CD Projekt Red's products, chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz explained that it is directly linked to Cyberpunk 2077 pre-orders.

The financial report of CD Projekt Red also revealed some interesting insights into how players are pre-ordering the game. At the moment, CDPR reported that the game had seen a significant increase in digital preorders, and the studio predicts that the ratio between physical and digital will lean towards digital sales. CDPR also sees the same trend in The Witcher franchise, saying that The Witcher 3's current sales are more than 50% digital, and The Witcher 1 and 2 are at 99%.

It is worth noting that this trend is normal in the video games industry, given that lifetime sales of a game usually skews towards digital as time passes by. Not to mention that most digital storefronts such as Steam and the PlayStation and Xbox Stores regularly offer steep discounts on digital games, which is also a factor as to why video game sales are slowly leaning towards digital.

Meanwhile, players who are interested in pre-ordering Cyberpunk 2077 right now should know that several retailers are offering discounts for the game as part of their Cyber Monday deals. At the moment, Amazon and Walmart are offering the lowest price for Cyberpunk 2077 for the PS4 and Xbox One at $49.94, which is 17% off its usual price of $59.99. Although the game can be played on the PS5 and Xbox Series X via backward compatibility, CDPR will release next-gen versions of the game sometime in 2021.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on December 10 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions releasing in 2021.
