Square Enix has announced SaGa Frontier Remastered, a remaster (duh) of the sci-fi JRPG that launched on PS1 all the way back in 1997. It was never officially released in Europe, so for a lot of players, this will be their first chance to experience the adventure.

Much like other games in the SaGa series, SaGa Frontier has multiple playable characters, each with their own story. And Remastered is actually adding an eighth hero named Fuse. It'll also feature new events and cutscenes, plus a 'high speed' mode. It's set for Summer 2021.

Even today, SaGa Frontier boasts a unique art style with some clear 90s anime inspiration. The game was very well received in its native Japan, but reviews were a little lukewarm when the title hit North America in 1998.

Still, this should be one to look forward to if you're a fan of 90s JRPGs.
