Last month, Ubisoft released Watch Dogs Legion, which received mostly positive reviews from players and critics. Although Watch Dogs Legion was met with praise, some owners of high-end PCs weren't very satisfied with the game's performance. However, it appears that this is soon changing, now that Ubisoft has released a brand new performance patch for the PC version of Watch Dogs Legion.
The latest update 2.20, features an 8-9% performance increase in the game's built-in benchmark. Before the roll-out of this update, Watch Dogs Legion ran at around 80-109fps on Very High Settings. However, with update 2.20, some players reported that they are now able to run 98-118fps on average, with the same Very High Settings. Moreover, the latest update ensures that Watch Dogs Legion runs smoothly on any gaming PC, especially those using high-end hardware. Although the latest update has definitely ramped up the game's performance, some PC players believe that Ubisoft could still do better in future updates when comparing it to the launch version.
At the moment, Watch Dogs Legion players are still encountering some glitches across all platforms. Recently, players reported that their Watch Dogs Legion save files are getting corrupted, which is also shared by Assassin's Creed Valhalla players. Thankfully, it appears that update 2.20 addresses this issue, though it is yet to be seen whether it applies to all versions of the game on different platforms. However, there are still a few issues that Ubisoft still has to address in Watch Dogs Legion, such as the glitch that prevents Xbox players from being able to save their games.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft announced yesterday that Watch Dogs Legion's online content would be delayed. Initially, the game's multiplayer mode is set to launch on December 3, but the latest post confirms that it will be postponed to early 2021. Unfortunately, Ubisoft did not specify the exact date of the multiplayer mode's release, so players should expect to wait. Of course, while this may be disappointing news to a lot of players, Ubisoft explained that the delay would give it extra time to "test the Online experience to help ensure a smooth launch of the mode."
To those unfamiliar with Watch Dogs Legion's upcoming multiplayer mode, it will allow up to four players to team up and explore the fictionalized version of the city of London. Players will also be able to participate in Tactical Ops missions that will test their teamwork and hacking skills. Moreover, other modes are also expected to be introduced in the game soon, such as Spiderbot Arena and a deathmatch mode.
Watch Dogs: Legion is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
