A new collection of Magic: The Gathering Secret Lairs have been revealed. These Magic: The Gathering basic lands feature the famous art of the happiest artist to ever be on TV: the landscape painter Bob Ross.

Magic: The Gathering's Secret Lair drops have been popular collections of alternate art collections. From the Thalia-themed Secret Lair to the rats-themed collection, the Secret Lair cards have always been limited edition, collectible sets for Magic fans. The newest in this line of themed collections with new art are a set of basic lands, with a happy little twist.

On November 30th, Secret Lair will feature a limited-time collection of Bob Ross Secret Lair-only basic lands. Each collection includes two of each basic land type: forest, island, plains, swamp, and mountain. All ten cards have different art, and this collection will come both in foil and in non-foil. Although the collection will not be officially priced on the website until November 25th, TGC fans can expect to pay anywhere from $20 to $30 for the non-foils and $30 to $50 for the foil set. Pre-orders will end December 14th, 2020.

This Bob Ross set will celebrate the first year of Secret Lair, and will be Magic's first Secret-versary. It started back in November of 2019 with seven sets of Secret Lairs released every week for the holiday season. Secret Lairs collections are only available for a limited time, so if Magic players want to grab one for themselves, they'll need to pick one of the last week of November. Since old Secret Lairs are going for hundreds of dollars on eBay and other resale sites, fans should try to get one while they are still live on Secret Lair's website.

Magic: The Gathering has released a ton of very collectible items over the last year, and it will go on with the Bob Ross Secret Lair and then with the collectible Kaladesh Remaster that will be available in December. It's put a myriad of beautiful cards into the world of Magic.

But at the same time, the massive amount of online-exclusives has been difficult to keep up with. The limited edition Secret Lairs can be a strain on wallets, and the online-only setup is difficult for gaming stores around the globe to get products. With COVID cutting down on paper Magic tournaments already and moving Magic tournaments to online places like Magic Arena, having online-only sets may be the death of many card stores that rely on paper Magic to make their money.
