Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has arrived. The much-anticipated shooter released on November 13 with sales success and fan excitement. But no game is perfect, and a major patch is on the way for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War that focuses on stability, updates to the spawn system, and general bug fixes for both multiplayer and zombies.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has seen good, not great reviews thus far, which is a slight step down from last year's Modern Warfare. Some of the concerns from both critics and fans have to do with game crashes, a lack of refreshing content, and more. While this patch doesn't add new content, Treyarch has big plans to continue to support the game moving forward. Patches that address stability, such as this one, will certainly help.

For multiplayer, players can expect adjusted spawn logic for the Hardpoint game mode. This is designed to create more action in the mode, where players do not have to travel as far to get to each objective. Spawn adjustments have also been made for Crossroads Strike and Armada Strike. There was also a glitch in which the Flak Jacket perk did not properly protect players in Hardcore mode, and this has been addressed. Fans can also look forward to playing Nuketown 84 in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War tomorrow, a new map to the game that is a reimagining of a fan-favorite. A new map and some game fixes and adjustments is a good recipe for an improved experience.

The update also addresses UI issues in Fireteam: Dirty Bomb in Black Ops: Cold War. The cooperative and team-based mode pits multiple teams of four against each other on a massive map. It also uses elements from Warzone, including armor plates and parachuting.

The Zombies mode receives some love in this patch as well. There are some great Perks and Field Upgrades in Black Ops Cold War Zombies, but some fans noticed a bug with the Feild Upgrades that has now been fixed. Previously, players were unable to earn a Field Upgrade while their Ring of Fire was activated, but that problem should be no more.

The patch also addresses stability, but the notes don't give clarification on that. The hope is that patches like this will fix problems like Black Ops Cold War causing Xbox Series X/S and PS5 consoles crashing, which is an issue some fans have been reporting. Here are the full patch notes :
