No Man's Sky's transformative evolution continues, as it's now been confirmed for PlayStation 5.

An enormous Next Generation update has been announced for the space exploration game, meaning you'll be able to play an enhanced version of the game on day one on your brand new PS5 — and yes, there's no charge. There are numerous improvements being made to the title, so let's go through some of them here.

Of course, it's getting a significant visual upgrade, with far more detailed worlds, and 60 frames-per-second performance at 4K resolution. Base building also benefits, as you'll be able to construct much larger bases than you can on PS4. Online multiplayer will support up to 32 players, and the update also introduces crossplay, so you'll be able to boldly go to new worlds with more buddies than ever. You'll also be able to upload your PS4 save data and carry on where you left off on PS5, so you don't have to start all over again.

On PS5 specifically, No Man's Sky will take advantage of the console's unique features, such as the DualSense controller. "Subtle haptic feedback allows you to feel the kick of your Multi-Tool as you blast Sentinels or mine resources, or the satisfying click of slotting a building part into place," reads the press release. In addition, the game will support PS5's 3D audio. Of course, loading times will be vastly improved thanks to PS5's SSD; warping will be up to 10 times faster, and the initial boot up sequence is significantly trimmed down. You'll also be able to play the PSVR version on PS5 via backwards compatibility.

You can read more details on all the above on the official No Man's Sky website. It sounds like yet another incredible update to the game. Will you be taking a trip to space on PS5 with this update? Tell us in the comments section below.
