Originally, the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta was scheduled to end on October 19th. Now, thanks to the dedicated work of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War community, the beta will be extended until October 20th at 10 AM PT. This beta extension will apply to all players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.

The extra day was announced by Activision and Treyarch after several cryptic codes were sent to players. After the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War community decrypted the puzzles, they discovered a special prize allowing all fans an extra day of beta gameplay on all platforms.

The puzzles were distributed early on Saturday and included a message which needed to be decoded. Traveling to the original Black Ops Cold War Teaser website, Pawn Takes Pawn, players were able to work through the puzzles and find the hidden message. Although the puzzle can still be solved to unlock the official extension message, Activision and Treyarch have already announced the results through their official social media outlets.

As with each of the puzzles, it became an immediate race to see who could find the solution first. This time, Twitch streamer Geeky Pastimes has been credited as one of the first to solve the puzzle. The solution was discovered live on stream with the help of his dedicated chat community.

This announcement appears shortly after the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta opened for all players across all platforms. This extension serves to give the open beta segment more time within the game, which is great for those who may have not had time to fully embrace the new upcoming title.

Still, the beta has not been without problems during its short lifetime. Cheaters, skill-based matchmaking, and many other problems have been discovered during the beta period. Thankfully, the active player feedback has been readily received by the development team as more data is collected every day of beta.

For those who have not gotten involved as of yet. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's beta has become open to players on Xbox One, PS4, and PC without the need for an early access code. Fans can unlock special rewards by leveling their accounts, so this extension acts as a great chance for those who may have fallen behind to catch up with the group.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to release on November 13th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
