Obsidian Entertainment's survival game Grounded and its shrunken world are getting an update for the Xbox Series X. Even though the game is still in Early Access, Grounded still gets updates with improvements to the content as the months go by. The developer shared some more details on the game's optimization on the next-generation console and what effects it will have once the console launches this November.

The news comes from Obsidian Entertainment's Director of Communication, Mikey Dowling, who shed some light on the update and what it will bring to the game. The developer announced that Grounded will be getting optimized for the console through the use of Smart Delivery technology. The Smart Delivery feature will let players purchase the game for the Xbox One and still be able to play it on the next-gen Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

The feature will provide players an automatic upgrade to the game and bring out the best version possible for Grounded. The update will have the game running at 60 FPS with 4K resolution on Xbox Series consoles with improved gameplay performance. It will better show off the game's ant-sized world in even greater detail than before. There will also be an increased graphic fidelity, improved loading times, and HDR support.

This lets the game show off even more of Grounded's insects, grass, trees, acorn, and turns it all into a stunning sight to behold. The update doesn't add content like Grounded's September updates, which were more seasonal updates whereas this is for the overall game itself. Obsidian is certainly taking full advantage of the Xbox Smart Delivery feature and the console's technical power to bring out the best in Grounded.

There are plenty of current Xbox games using Smart Delivery technology in order to provide new updates to make the transition over to the Xbox Series consoles more seamless. Even new game releases will be relying on the new Xbox feature when they launch, such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Halo Infinite. As long as a game is available on the present or new Xbox console, then it will likely receive the new updates via Smart Delivery for free and allow players to always get the best version of their games.

Obsidian Entertainment is taking full advantage of this for the game for the next-generation console. When the new Xbox Series X is released to  the public, the update will optimize everything in Grounded's backyard setting for players to enjoy.

Grounded is in Early Access for PC and Xbox One, and will launch for Xbox Series X on November 10.
