The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta is now live on the Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Although the beta started last week on the PS4, this weekend the Black Ops Cold War beta sees new content for all platforms that should excite players.

Between Thursday, October 15 and Monday, October 19, the Black Ops Cold War beta will see a bevy of modes and maps. The idea is that a rotating list of options will be made available over the weekend for those who play the Black Ops Cold War beta.

Beginning today, Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, Combined Arms Domination + Assault, and VIP Escort are available, alongside Hardpoint and Fireteam Dirty Bomb as new additions. The maps Miami, Satellite, Crossroads, Moscow, Armada, and Cartel are playable, with Ruka and Alpine being new. On Saturday, October 17, the developers will add one new mode, Control, that will last through the rest of the beta weekend.

For Thursday and Friday, the level cap will be 31, and the only players who have access to the beta are those who pre-ordered Black Ops Cold War. Beginning Saturday, the beta is open to everyone and the level cap increases to 40.

Some of the modes and maps are carried over from the successful Black Ops Cold War alpha, but there are new maps and modes to enjoy as well. Miami and Armada, for example, are two returning maps that players enjoyed in the alpha. However, Ruka and Alpine are new additions.

Perhaps the most interesting game mode that players will be able to try out is the new Fireteam mode for Black Ops Cold War. The mode pits teams of 4 against each other in a large-scale battleground with objectives. In the case of Dirty Bomb, the idea is that players must blow up bomb locations throughout the map. The mode also brings characteristics from Warzone such as parachuting, the ability to revive downed teammates, and using armor plates for additional health.

Thus far, the Black Ops Cold War beta is receiving praise. With a full-fledged campaign, Zombies, multiplayer, Fireteam, and Warzone integration, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is shaping up to be one of the larger entries into the series. After a weekend with the beta, fans will hopefully have a better idea of what they can expect when the full game releases.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to release on November 13 for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
