The challenge consists of 10 stages, each one with a unique task that gets tougher than the one before it. Get your best guns ready and gear up to shoot some big and small game, along with going up against some human enemies too!

10 Round 1 (Kill 5 birds in the air)

The first of the ten tasks is a fairly simple one. The birds can be a combination of any species of flying bird in the game. This includes ducks, crows, seagulls, hawks, eagles, and more.

They don't have to all be killed at the same moment, but they are required to be in flight when they are shot. Using Dead Eye on flying targets makes this task the easiest one for sure, especially when approaching flocks of birds.

9 Round 2 (Kill 5 rabbits)

Rabbits can be taken down in one hit, making them an easy-to-kill target, but finding them can be a bit tricky since they're so small and quick. Players can find rabbits along grassy plains and near roads, especially at night time when more of them come out.

Using Dead Eye to shoot down multiple at once will make the challenge go by quicker, since walking around a spot like Hennigan's Stead or Warthington Ranch is sure to produce many rabbits within a short amount of time. Be sure to use a smaller gun like a revolver so the carcass isn't ruined.

8 Round 3 (Take no damage while killing 5 coyotes)

This challenge is best to tackle during the night since coyotes mostly come out in packs during this time. It is important that players take no damage in between the 5 kills, though coyotes are more likely to run away from an attack than to fight back.

Groups of coyotes can be found around Armadillo, New Austin, Nuevo Paraiso, along with on the outskirts of MacFarlane's Ranch.

7 Round 4 (Kill 5 birds from atop a train)

Players can find a train on their map and board it either at the station when it's stopped or from horseback when it's on the move. Players can then find a ladder to climb to the top of the train and slow their movements to avoid falling off. Using a revolver or a repeater, along with Dead Eye, it is then time to shoot down 5 birds of any kind while atop the moving train.

It shouldn't take too long before some birds pass by and you get your fourth challenge completed.

6 Round 5 (Kill 2 animals within a single Dead Eye meter)

This challenge may seem intimidating but it's really not too difficult since any two wild animals of any species will work. This means a player can target both a rabbit and a bird in the same Dead Eye. Following a target animal until it approaches another animal, like a bird or snake, will make the process easier.

The Dead Eye meter must end automatically and not be canceled after the two animals are killed.

5 Round 6 (Shoot the hats off the heads of 2 people)

This is the first challenge involving humans, so be careful when attempting this around large groups since people will get alarmed and sometimes get aggressive. Using Dead Eye precise aiming, be sure to target the hat on the person's head and not the person's head itself.

There's no need to get one hat right after the other, as there is no time limit between when each hat needs to be shot off. People wearing large hats are a good target, such as Walton's Gang and their tophats or the Banditos with their sombreros.

4 Round 7 (Kill 3 bears with 1 shot each)

Getting a headshot each time is basically the only way players can complete this challenge. Bears are tough wild animals to take down, so killing one with a single shot will take a precise headshot. It will also take a powerful weapon like a sniper or rifle to ensure the job gets done in one hit.

Avoid shotguns since they typically don't work for this kind of challenge. And be careful when approaching bears in the woods, for they are very dangerous and strong creatures who will get aggressive when attacked!

3 Round 8 (Shoot the hats off the heads of 2 people & disarm 2 people)

Going back to the people will big hats, it's now time to do it again but this time, you have to disarm two people as well as knock their hats off. These do not have to be done at the same time. However, knocking someone's hat off can trigger them to pull up their weapon, allowing the player to target their weapon that is now drawn.

Be sure not to shoot their arm, hand, or any other part of their body and only aim at the weapon. Finding a gang hangout and shooting from a distance makes this challenge much easier.

2 Round 9 (Kill 6 animals without reloading/changing weapons)

Finding groups/packs of animals is the key to completing this challenge. Many wild animals stick together and travel in groups, so finding one with 6 animals or more will make the challenge easiest.

Big groups of vultures appear at gang hideouts once the player has killed all the inhabitants, wolves and coyotes travel in packs at night, deer and buffalo roam in herds, and birds fly in flocks across the map.

1 Round 10 (Disarm 6 enemies without reloading/changing weapons)

For the final and toughest challenge, players will have to do what they did in the previous challenge, but this time, with humans. In a single round of ammo on a single gun, players must shoot the weapons out of the hands of six different people. It is the easiest to do this at a gang hideout since many enemies will be armed with weapons.

Disarming the same person twice counts towards the challenge and reloading outside of Dead Eye ends the challenge. Using a weapon that carries a lot of bullets makes the challenge easier! After this one is complete, then the entire Sharpshooter Challenge is finished and players will be left with some awesome rewards and the coolest title of Legendary Sharpshooter.
