An indie action role-playing title developed and published by SeithCG, Ghost of a Tale is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch. The game, which was initially funded through an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign in 2013, released on PC five years later and came to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in March 2019.

Ghost of a Tale, which puts players in control of Tilo, a small heroic mouse, will arrive on the Switch on October 8 and will cost players $25. A limited-release physical version of the game will also become available in November.

Set in a medieval world populated by anthropomorphic animals, Ghost of a Tale was developed by a very small team, led by DreamWorks and Universal Pictures veteran Lionel “Seith” Gallat, who created the concept and is responsible for 90 percent of the game’s art, design, and coding. Six other people joined Gallat to handle coding and tool development, sound design and composing, as well as illustration and 2D art.

The role-playing game takes place a few hundred years after a catastrophic event known as the War of the Green Flame has overrun the world, destroying all before it and raising the defeated into a massive army of undead. After centuries of struggle, the rat army overcomes the Green Flame and they rise as heroes.

In Ghost of a Tale, Tilo is a minstrel mouse who sets out on a dangerous quest to escape from the dungeons of Dwindling Heights Keep and reunite with his true love, Merra. The rats now rule over all other creatures and Tilo must use his stealth skills, agility, and various disguises to outwit, outrun or hide from them as he makes his way through the decrepit keep and into the nearby woods.
