Nintendo's Jump Rope Challenge isn't going anywhere. After initially being announced that the game will leave the Nintendo eShop on September 30, the Big N has revealed that the download will be available until further notice.

Nintendo released its surprise free Jump Rope Challenge game on the Switch back in June of this year. The cute and simple title has players using Joy-Cons to hop up and down for exercise, as a bunny in a jumpsuit follows along on-screen. The delightful challenge is just another example in Nintendo pushing for its fans to be healthy along with their fun gaming hobby, as games like Wii Fit and Ring Fit Adventure have been successful in promoting exercise.

Today the official Nintendo of America Twitter page released a statement about Jump Rope Challenge, saying that players have recorded 2.5 billion jumps in the game. With new jumpers downloading and using the game, Nintendo shared that it is backtracking the decision to take the game off of the eShop, making it available for the foreseeable future.

The announcement that the game was being taken off the eShop was a bit perplexing in the first place, as Nintendo had been supporting Jump Rope Challenge with updates. The simple but adorable title didn't seem to be harming anyone by being a free download, so it is a good sign for all that the game won't be going anywhere.

Nintendo doing a 180 on making Jump Rope Challenge a limited download could be encouraging for the extremely successful Super Mario 3D All-Stars. The game is set to be made unavailable early next year, but perhaps Nintendo will change its mind about that as well.

Jump Rope Challenge is available now on Switch.
