An exciting new sale is giving fans a chance to experience some of the absolute best PlayStation games of this generation for a lower price. The Games of a Generation sale is discounting a lot of PS4 games for players who didn't get to play some of Sony's fourth PlayStation console's greatest.

The PS4 won't be rendered obsolete by the arrival of the PS5 later this year, although as time goes on, fewer new games will be playable on the PS4, and people will turn to newer consoles. Still, many people will still love playing on their PS4s, and there's no denying that this generation had some seriously amazing games. Many of these, starting on September 30, will be available for a discounted price on the PlayStation Store.

The sale will last for a decently long time, giving players the chance to put in some extra last-minute research on these generational greats before making any potential purchases. The sale begins on the last day of September and runs until Wednesday, October 14 at 11:59 PM local time. So, PS4 players don't have to make time zone adjustments if making any last-minute purchases from this sale.

North American and European players will be getting slightly different offerings, but they'll both be getting a big selection that includes games that have the potential to tickle just about anyone's fancy. The discounted games include Apex Legends, Borderlands 3, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Ghost of Tsushima, a ton of LEGO games, Middle-earth: Shadow of War, Tekken 7, and The Witcher 3. That's only a small list of the games available in the PS4 sale, and players should check out the full list on the store's website in their respective regions to see what games they'd enjoy most.

The PS5 already has many confirmed exclusives, and this next console generation is sure to have video games arriving with the PS5's launch and later that appeal to a broad range of tastes. Many years from now, when Sony comes out with its next console, (which it is very likely to do eventually), players may get to pick from a bunch of PS5 games and reminisce about the generation's greats.

Looking back on this generation, it's clear there were a lot of amazing games, and that isn't even taking into account Xbox exclusives and Nintendo games. Hopefully the next generation will bring the level of quality in writing, mechanics, and gameplay up to an even higher level.
