As the launch closes in for the Xbox Series X and S, Microsoft has been strongly pushing Xbox Game Pass. The service allows players to pay a monthly subscription and receive access to hundreds of games, including all Xbox first-party games on day one, which will soon include all Bethesda Studios titles after the Microsoft acquisition. One of the other features of the service is the ability to stream games, a feature known as Project xCloud. Currently, the service is only available on Android devices, but that may change soon according to some rumors.

Fans were quite upset when they learned that Apple was blocking xCloud from being on iOS devices, especially considering the fact that the beta version of the service was indeed on iOS. A few video game insiders seem to be hinted that this is about to change.

Twitter user @JezCorden is a tech writer at Windows Central, and was among the fans who vocalized their annoyance with xCloud not making it to iOS, as more ads promoting Xbox Game Pass streaming have appeared. However, he has been mysteriously tweeting about a big piece of news that will arrive in the coming weeks. In one tweet he reminded Tom Warren (Senior Editor of The Verge) that the biggest piece of news is still on the way, and Warren agreed. Additionally, he has reversed course from being disappointed about xCloud on iOS to letting fans on Twitter know that "there could be a fix for that soon."

The Reddit community has picked up on the tweets and is starting to get excited. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer said that he wants xCloud on every screen that can stream, so the hope is that eventually the service can be taken utilized on not only all phones, but TVs and computers, as well.

The rumors of xCloud on iOS should be taken with a grain of salt for now. It's entirely possible that fans are reading into the tweets too much and a totally different announcement is on the way. While it is fun to dream, these fans could end up letting themselves down. Video games are notorious for exciting rumors that never come true. Of course, true leaks also present themselves, so it is difficult to decipher between what is real and what is simply empty hope. For now, Game Pass streaming with xCloud can be enjoyed on only Android devices. Hopefully, that changes soon.
